The supermarkets had no ladyfinger biscuits in stock so we decided to make our own! We would definitely be making our own from now on 👌🏾👌🏾. Much more fluffier and delicious. We have to find ways to pivot and not give up ! Cause we nearly did 😅

Spent so much time talking about the history of this cake, we never got around to describing the taste!

Two layers of chocolate sponge, perfectly moist and flavorful thanks to what we learned from Dixie of Slice Twice in Tobago! I'm going to try to stay on topic but if you want to hear more about our sister bakery, ask me next time you're in.

The chocolate sponge is brushed with an apricot simple syrup that sandwiches a properly thick layer of chocolate mousse that's light enough to keep you from feeling too indulgent. We top the cake with a layer of ganache and then decorate it with white chocolate.

The design of the decoration is inspired by Hungarian folk art embroidery. The idea came from one of our bakers with Hungarian heritage (shout out to the Meszaros family!) and was then executed by another baker who brought the vision to life.

The result was wonderfully collaborative, and while it took a few weeks to perfect, it is the exact blend of tradition, flavor, and style that is uniquely Sarkozy.

We're open every day of the week and you can get a slice or a whole one whenever you like! $6 a slice or $50 for the whole thing!
