吉古拉發音來自日文的竹輪「ちくわ」，其日文發音比較接近於'吉古挖'！後人因講多講久順而變"吉古拉"。
早期為了不浪費多餘的魚肉，因而研發很多的魚漿製品，
"吉古拉"就是其中的一樣基隆美食！
