I’m grateful for the opportunity to meet Ms. Faye Testa from ESI Philippines and talk about the possibility of planting Philippine native trees here on our farm. 🌱🌳
ESI Philippines is working on the preservation of Philippine tarsiers here in Tupi, South Cotabato, and I’m happy to explore ways our farm can contribute to this important work.
Currently, we have Narra trees growing on our farm, which are an important part of our Philippine native tree heritage and provide a habitat for different species. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we also noticed two birds flying around our Narra trees. We weren’t able to identify them, we wondered if they might have been a male and female migratory pair. 🦅
This experience reminded me that planting trees is not only about growing something for the future—it’s also about creating a safe home for birds, insects, and wildlife.
