玩味沙龍所在空間，為 1978 年落成的和泰大飯店（現為玩味旅舍）當年屋主的住處。我們存續當年主人居家空間的美學基調，融合當代台灣設計物件，讓兩個年代截面的風格語彙，在空間中相互對話。

從一個設計物件，我們可以看到時代的美學、思潮、材料工法、製造技術、產業脈絡、生活方式與風格。而上百件設計物件所構成的空間，我們便可能看到一個時代多元而豐富的生活文化樣貌。

玩味沙龍透過將設計物件梳理後，再次回放至生活場域之中，讓設計被再次發現和體驗。我們希望，多樣而內涵豐富的設計物件，能激活沙龍主人和賓客之間的人文情懷與創意。

Play Design Salon is a catering space renovated from a residence built in 1978 with a focus on curating food that fuses the old and the ne

w. The interior design philosophy of Play Design Salon embodies “long life design” concept which against contemporary consumptive design trend. The space is furnished with decors (furniture, fixtures, and accessories) produced between 1970s and now, both naturally and deliberately. Through this, the space has become an exhibition of local design context, a platform that accumulates and metabolize design decors, as well as an ecology of objects of different time interacting with each other in the space, thus creating an eclectic yet retro chic scene.

設計源自於生活，而生活來自於體驗

沙龍沒有一個特定的形式，通常會有一位沙龍主人，以及他邀請的各方朋友，聚集在一個風格場域，對不同面向議題進行交流。

我們認為，沙龍就是當代想法與思潮產生的風格場域。

我們在思考創造一個沙龍的時候，發現風格場域不一定有具體定義上的空間機能，它形式上可能是一個客廳、一間茶館、一個展場，或一間選物店。這些在玩味沙龍的空間硬體設計上，都保有其可調適性。

我們保留最後一步的軟體設計，賦權予沙龍主人，期待不同的沙龍主人，來這裡主持他/她的議題、策展或活動，完成這個空間作為當代沙龍應該或可以是什麼樣形式的一種可能註解— 也許是手工甜點師傅的食物設計體驗快閃店、獨立書店店長的女性主義座談，或藝術家關於人權議題的行動劇表演場地。或者，我們也可以找政治人物來聊聊台灣文創產業的下一步。
