Our CEO and founder recently spent two weeks with the eWATER team in Kenya - getting out into the field, visiting communities and seeing our systems in action.

One highlight was walking the length of our largest conveyance line, which runs from the Sagalla Hills down to the dry valley of Kajire in Taita Taveta, dropping over 600 vertical metres along the way.

We followed the route from source to community, seeing first-hand the scale of engineering that goes into delivering reliable water across very challenging rural terrain. Swipe to see a diagram showing the scale of the system.

It’s one thing to see a pipeline on a design. It’s another to walk it.

There’s exciting progress happening in eWATER’s newest county, Taita Taveta! Smart Taps have been constructed in our ‘Tap Factory’ in Voi and are currently being installed in Kajire village.

What a turnout in Njukini, as the community came to learn about eWATER’s new project in their village! The engagement and feedback was extremely positive, highlighting just how strong the demand for 24/7 clean water is and how vital it is to keep delivering.

All of us at eWATER wish to express our deepest sorrow at the passing of Rory Nightingale. Rory was the Managing Director of eWATERservices Kenya, and facilitated our successful expansion into the country, as well as offering invaluable support to our Tanzanian organisation. Drawing from his wealth of knowledge and experience, he set the foundations for the growth of eWATER in East Africa. He was an inspirational leader, kind and generous colleague, and a great friend to the company’s Founders and all members of staff across Kenya and Tanzania.

He leaves a legacy of over 100,000 people receiving clean water 24/7 and many thousands more will soon be able to benefit from the successful company he helped to build.

Our sincere condolences go out to Sabrina, his children, and wider family.

Our Tanzania team is progressing well with our newest partner IGUWASA (Igunga Urban Water Supply & Sanitation Authority).

20 out of 80 new Smart Taps have already been installed in Phase 1, and we’re already scoping new locations for further installation.

We were also proud to host IGUWASA’s Managing Director Alexander E. Ntonge and his team - who came to see the new taps in action!

We’re proud of our strong relationships with water authorities across Tanzania as we work towards clean water access. 💧

Victoria Beach has been a core part of eWATER for 4 years. In that time she’s led the eWATER Tanzania team installing and maintain over 770 Smart Taps. She’s also played a crucial role in our broader leadership team, supporting business operations across East Africa.

We recently reached the milestones (almost on the same day coincidentally!) of serving 250,000 people and distributing over 1 billion litres of safe water in Tanzania. 🎉

So we thought it was time to recognise Vic’s huge contribution to that effort by making her our Managing Director for Tanzania.

Vic - thanks for the 4 years so far and for the exciting journey to come! 🎉

We’re very proud of our long-term partnership in Tanzania with SUWASA (Singida Water Supply and Sanitation Authority).

This week, we will reach a total of 210 Smart Taps installed within Singida and its surrounding villages. eWATER and SUWASA will continue to operate and maintain these Smart Taps, collect revenue transparently and efficiently, and take care of customers.

We look forward to further expansion and many years of work to come with

Our Tanzania team 🇹🇿 is celebrating a huge milestone! 🎉💧

This past week, we crossed 1 Billion Litres of water dispensed to over 250,000 residents since we launched in Tanzania in 2017.

From Tabora to Dodoma, Singida to Morogoro, our Smart Taps continue to deliver clean water 24/7 to villages and towns across the country.

We’re grateful to the partners and regional governments that make this work possible - and we can’t wait to continue to deliver access to more communities this year.
