This project would not be possible without these two amazing individuals. Many thanks to Ruth from for her role in project planning and for working with the communities in putting this project together.

Also a big shout out to Diana from Tumaini Microfinance who helped coordinate and plan this project, in addition to providing terrific resources to the participants about financial literacy.

Day 5 and it’s our last day of training, which means graduation day! There are six women’s groups who took part in this training, and each group received a beehive and bee equipment made by to start their cooperatives.

Big thanks to the who came to support our 57 graduates. And also to , Tumaini Microfinance, and who made this project a reality for these women in Uganda.

Our team today focused on financial literacy and value added bee products. We discussed the ins and outs of saving, business planning, and group dynamics in cooperatives. We also learned from about exciting value added products such as infused honey, lotions, salve, and lip balm, which can help entrepreneurs earn more income through their bee businesses.

Happy ! In celebration, we are throwing it back to 2020 with our grant to train rural women farmers in Malawi in beekeeping and to help them set up their own cooperative. Two years later, they continue to harvest honey and even formed a microfinancing group to lend and save money together.
