Anchor Foods Limited (Anchor Foods/AFL) is a limited liability company registered in Uganda. Its headquarters is in Kampala with a Liaison office in Iganga district. Anchor Foods Limited (Anchor Foods) was created out of a real need for more players in the Fresh food exports out of Uganda. This requires an organized exporter in agro-processed food stuffs, fresh fruits and vegetables including okra, bullet chillies, hot pepper, eggplant, groundnuts, matooke, maize, yam, apple bananas, gunda, passion fruits, sugarcane, raw mangoes, sweet potatoes, karella, avocado and beans. The promoters of Anchor Foods started by organizing small holder farmers into a Co-operative Society in Iganga District. This society has been bulking and selling to various exporters dealing in all the items mentioned. Anchor Foods is upscalling to achieve up to 10,000 small holder farmers. Anchor Foods is focused on increasing its coverage with a country wide presence, we now have farmers in Eastern, Western and Central parts of the country. Districts covered include Buikwe, Jinja, Luuka, Mayuge, Kaberamaido, Iganga, Namutumba, Bugiri, Mbarara, Kyotera, Lwengo and Mpigi. 1
