Discovered this mulberry tree growing on the farm today. I think it is really a great tree that provides alot of feed this time of year for turkeys, squirrels and all types of other wildlife.

This year I tried something new on the farm. I am feeding cotton gin trash to the cows as a cheap alternative to hay. Luckily I work close to a gin and can just bring some home with me after work. The nutritional analysis is probably as good or better than most average "cow" hay in my area. I will post some videos of the cows enjoying it. They seem to like it and are keeping good body condition so far. These are 500 lb compressed bales.

Every year at least one person asks me whether or not whole cottonseed can be fed to their livestock. And after all of these years, I am still surprised at the question. Upland cottonseed is one of the best supplements, from a nutritional standpoint, that I have ever seen. It has a moderate protein....

Here is a better look at out newest heifer calf. Her sire is a clear win son and her dams sire is a tibbs son. Combining pioneer and clear biz! Almost as good as the deal on 30 packs of natty light at the Oxford MS walmart!
