Warning ‼️ gross stuff! Haha
My morning started off with seeing some unusual behavior from my stud in the field. I quickly made it over and found that a mare was down on her side attempting to foal. She was covered in sweat and struggling to push with no progress just a face sticking out.
I ran back to my truck and gloved up. I was able to calm mom enough to check out baby. The sac had already been broken and the foal had a tongue out. I squeezed fluid from the nostrils and cleared the mouth. I carefully felt around the neck looking for another leg as only one presented with the head. I found the other leg bent and carefully straightened it out. The foals tongue was loosing normal color so as mom pushed i gently pulled downward and after about 20 minutes of repeating all of this the foal made it out! Thankfully mom and foal are healthy and happy! Today was a good day! ♥️ Grateful for the knowledge i have and the experience in the miracles!
