Reminder Brown County Farm Bureau Voting Members there is a Resolutions meeting tonight at 8:30pm at Karen's Bar & Grill in Columbia. The purpose of this meeting is to bring forward any ideas on issues that are facing agriculture and develop a resolution or resolutions to send to the SD Farm Bureau for consideration at the State Convention on Nov. 17-18 in Sioux Falls. If approved by the delegates at the State Convention the resolution becomes SD Farm Bureau Policy. Once adopted as policy this becomes the position SD Farm Bureau takes on an issue should the issue come before the legislature. The same process takes place on issues of national scope, these then go to the American Farm Bureau delegate body for a vote.
If you are a current voting member or would like to join Farm Bureau and own land or are an active producer please make your voice heard by attending this evening!

A reminder to everyone that the Brown County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting will be on Tuesday August 29th at 6:30pm at the AmericInn Conference Center, 301 Centennial St. Aberdeen. Supper will begin at 6:30 with meeting to follow. Everyone is welcome. SD Farm Bureau President Scott Vanderwal will update us on happenings at the State and National Level. Remember that Farm Bureau is a grass roots organization representing SD Agriculture that develops policy based on members input at the local level. The Brown County Farm Bureau Annual meeting is quickly approaching. The Annual Meeting will take place on August 29th at 6:30pm at the AmericInn Conference Center in Aberdeen. South Dakota Farm Bureau President and American Farm Bureau Vice President, Scott Vanderwal will be joining us and giving an update on happenings at the national and state levels. We will have a meal at 6:30 pm followed by the Annual Meeting. We will be having election of directors during the meeting. We encourage all members and any prospective members to be in attendance. Please make plans to join Brown County and SD Farm Bureau for Farm Bureau Day at the Capitol on February 6 & 7 in Pierre. County Training and Leadership Development will take place beginning at 1:30pm on Monday Feb. 6th at the Redrossa Italian Grille/Clubhouse Hotel and Suites. Beginning at 5:30pm Farm Bureau will be hosting a Social with the Legislators followed by a meal at the Casey Tibbs Rodeo Center, 210 Vernendrye Drive, Ft. Pierre. Tuesday will start with breakfast at 6:30am at the Redrossa Italian Grille. Farm Bureau will attend Committee Meetings at the Capitol beginning at 7:30am, (use North Door to go thru security) The group will take a photo at 11:00am on the steps in the Rotunda. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:30am, giving you an opportunity to mingle with the Legislators. at 12:45 the Farm Bureau group will sit in on House and Senate sessions and be recognized.

This is a great opportunity to see our state government in action and a great opportunity to connect with our local Representatives and Senators.

Brown County Farm Bureau Board of Directors will be meeting on Friday, December 9th at Noon at the Flame restaurant in Aberdeen. We welcome any member of the Brown County Farm Bureau to join us for our meeting.
We will recap county activities from the past several months, hear a report on the state convention along with discuss plans for upcoming activities including planning an Annual Meeting for our membership.

Brown County Farm Bureau was out and about throughout Brown County this past Thursday and Friday delivering "Harvest Lunches" to farmers. A total of 150 lunches were delivered to farmers in the fields. Thank You to Judy Vrchota with Senator John Thune's Aberdeen office for going along to deliver the Harvest Lunches. This annual event was made possible with our business partners, CLH Insurance, Farm Tire Service, RDO Equipment, Welding Repair, Ken's Super Fair Foods, Subway and Dakota Broadcasting. This is the second year that Brown County Farm Bureau has done this event to say "Thank You" to our farmers who work tirelessly to produce the food to feed the world!

During their ‘Feed the Farmer’ campaign, members of the Brown County Farm Bureau spent the morning packing 75 lunches to take to local farmers.
