Beginning today - U-Pick Dahlias!
We only sell what we grow!
Still getting beautiful blooms in the new collection area.
A portion of today's harvest - gotta love August! (Well, except when there is a heat dome, but it does hasten the ripening process...)
This is another bloom from our new collection. It is mislabeled and I'd appreciate any thoughts as to what it might be.
These are a few from our new collection, some of which should be available next year.
Half past August and we are still enjoying 45 varieties of daylily blooms. Some have rebloomed and others have a very extended bloom time.
Lots of fresh cut flowers at Lily Lane Farm! Hours: Friday through Sunday 11 to 5.
I love to harvest - flowers, vegetables, fruit, eggs. But my absolute favorite is potatoes, especially these goofy ones. Creamed peas and new potatoes. Dinner tonight.

We recently acquired a beautiful daylily collection. A small sample...
A portion of the harvest this morning. Not shown - more of everything plus green cabbage and several varieties of lettuce.
Daylily season!!
After our unexpected closure, we are back!! July is peak daylily season here on the Washington coast and the daylilies are putting on a show!
Well, we were open today Friday July 7th, however it took quite a toll on Monte, so we will need to close for the balance of this weekend, Saturday July 8th and Sunday July 9th. If there is something you need, please message us and we will do our best to make arrangements with you.
The daylilies are just starting to bloom and will continue to do so for several weeks so there will be plenty of time to stroll through the fields and see the wide variety of blooms. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Just a reminder...we will be closed today June 30, 2023 through Sunday July 2, 2023. We will be open as usual beginning July 7, 2023.
My garden today!!
Blackberries, Raspberries and Plums, oh my! And Apples! Looks like this will be a great year for fruit.
I am not a lazy gardener. I am an exhausted one! A way to cut down on work is to cut your mature cabbage just below the flesh. Leave the stem and roots in the soil and watch what happens!
There will be multiple baby cabbage nodes that will grow to be solid softball-sized fruits! Perfect for adding to a stir fry or salad.
Picture #1 is just after I cut a Katarina cabbage .
The 2nd picture is another Katrina that had 10 baby plants which I reduced to 5 in order to get a usable size.
This has worked on all of the varieties I grow including Katarina, Golden Acre, Tiara and Ruby Ball. Waiting to try it on Early Jersey Wakefield
Lily Lane Farm will be closed tomorrow, Friday June 23rd. We will be back as usual on Saturday June 24th at 11:00. See you then!
Another beautiful day in Westport Washington!
Summer Solstice 2023
A big thank you to whoever left the treasures at our gate the other day. Very much appreciated! And as a reminder, if anyone should have any vases or pots to recycle, we would gladly welcome them.
Happy Father's Day to Monte - his favorite shortbread cookies.
I have never seen this spider in our garden before. Misumena vatia - Golden Rod Crab Spider. Beautiful!
Today in the garden!
Cleaned out a pot for a tomato and gathered a tub of spring-blooming bulbs. Project for fall!
The morning garden tour. Lady's Mantle with Callas, Lychnis with hardy geranium, Sweet William, Small Wonder yellow strawberry, Walking Onion, and the beginning of the Campanella.
Finally...things are happening in the garden!
What a strange couple of days. A full moon, low temperatures and big wind sucked the life out of several dahlias. Yet a dahlia, right next to an affected row was fine. Luckily the cole crops are doing great and the dahlias will recover. Just a little later.
My garden today. And...big news...my pod hatched!
It will be about another week or two before the farm bursts into bloom, so I'm featuring the houseplants this weekend.
Some of the varieties shown include assorted Pepperomias, Rabbit's Foot Fern, Chinese Money Plant, Turtle Vine, Aloe, String of Turtles, Miniature African Violets, Air Plants and more.
The digging of the dahlia plants has begun!
Stir fry from the garden tonight - Aspabroc, Katarina, the 1st cabbage of the season, Toy Choi, home-grown bean sprouts, Sugar Ann snap peas, green onions and chive blossoms.
Happy Sunday! Today's Salad Blend contains several varieties of Lettuce, Aspabroc, the first of the Snap Peas, Green Onions and Chives - all grown here at the farm.
