Today’s barrel pick is from Heaven’s Door with their single barrel select. This is a cask strength straight bourbon whiskey from Tennessee and sits at 122.5 proof (61.3 ABV). The mash bill on this one includes: 70% corn, 22% rye and 8% barley.
This bourbon starts with strong notes of oak with hints of caramel on the nose. It delves into a chewy and medium bodied char with a dark chocolate palate. The whiskey finishes off with a hint of nutmeg and other baking spices.

Today’s barrel pick will be from Barrell’s private release collection. This single barrel is a Rye finished in Ruby Port casks sitting at 116.62 Proof (58.31% ABV).
This whiskey has a bright aroma of rye with hints of chocolate undertones. The first sip is warming, getting close to hot and then settles into a smokey and caramel palate. The notes end off into a chocolate finish with an added nuttiness of nutmeg.

Today we will be addressing our other Maker’s Mark private selection barrel. Finished in 10 selected staves the profile includes: 6 Maker’s Mark 46, 1 roasted French mendiant and 3 toasted French spice staves. It sits at 111.2 Proof (55.6% ABV) and is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey.
Similar to the other Maker’s Mark, this one has a strong ethanol smell but the texture is silky smooth, medium bodied and warming. The palate at first is very smokey and has notes of oak and vanilla and eventually finishes into a toasted marshmallow.

Today we’ll be talking about our Old Forester Barrel Pick. This whiskey is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon single barrel, barrel strength. Sitting at a 133.5 Proof (66.75% ABV), it was aged in warehouse K and floor 8 of the Old Forester Distillery.

The aroma of this whiskey is decadent with caramel and butterscotch covered in a strong oak note. The mouthfeel is very velvety smooth but the palate is smokey and almost peaty. The finish on it mellows into a nice creamy vanilla with hints of butterscotch.

Today we will be addressing one of our Maker’s Mark private selection barrels. Finished in 10 selected staves the profile includes: 4 baked American pure, 4 seared French Cuvee and 2 roasted French mendiant staves. It sits at 109.2 proof (54.6% ABV) and is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey.
The initial aroma is rich with ethanol but as you let it sit notes of oak and eventually grapes start to flourish. The mouth is very warming and almost creamy and the primary flavors are oak with hints of vanilla. The finish mellows into the vanilla more and is reminiscent of marshmallows.

Today’s pick is our 1792 Bottled in Bond. This barrel pick is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon distilled in the ‘bottled in bond’ style, resulting in a 100 proof (50% ABV) whiskey.
The first aroma that comes forth is a distinct banana and caramel mixed with a cinnamon, reminiscent of a nice banana dessert. The texture is a combination of chewy and creamy as it really settles into that banana flavor. Heavy notes of caramel peak through and a hint of smokiness sneaks around the back end finishing off in a creamy butterscotch flavor.
