Looks like we will be safe from vampires this year!

We are sad to share that our sweet girl Daisy Duke passed away this morning.

When we brought Daisy to Okie-Mo, she was 17 years old, and as playful as a three year old. She was a little advanced in age but not "old" considering many alpacas living into their mid-twenties.

Daisy Duke is so Cute, her registered name, had been with her previous owners Ron and Ruthann from infancy. Ron loved his herd so much but could not care for them anymore. Ruthann passed away the previous fall and Ron turned down a second round of cancer treatment to make end of life preparations and see Ruthann again.

Ron told us that Daisy was his absolute favorite and he held on to her, Wind Dancer, and Bella Noches as long as he possibly could. We weren't exactly sure how long Daisy would live, we just knew we wanted to give her and the others the best life we could.

Daisy was usually first to a treat, first to dinner, and almost always first in line to get belly sprays in the summer. The barn seems empty without her shadowing us around.

We'll see you somewhere over the rainbow Daisy-Maisy!
