You might’ve noticed our new lil mostly-plant shelf over by the bar. Leanne just re-upped it with some special flora out of her greenhouse in eclectic pots that she’s found here and there. Come by and take a look—it’s a great shelf to grab a thoughtful (and locally created) gift for someone.

Plants really are one of the best gifts, especially because nowadays you can simply do an internet search to find details for care.

Abingdon's second Soap Box Derby taking place on Main St. starting at 10am. It was big fun last year--see y'all there.

Afterward, mosey on over to Sweetbay--open today at Noon, with grand liquid refreshment & air conditioning for a hot day.

This Saturday, Sept. 5th at 6:30pm, Sweetbay will host Mojohand. New Jersey-born, Brooklyn-based band Mojohand have been writing rockin, country-soul-soaked songs and playing them in every bar, backyard, and basement willing to have them for the past nine years. Their energetic and melodic brand of rock & roll, ginger soul, and Jersey twang has won over crowds from coast to coast. $10 cover.

It Wednesday, babes, and FRESH CANS have entered the chat. Welcome back that Sweetbay darling, Forest Black Lager, as well as hyperfresh batch of Science is Golden IPA.

WINE LOVERS: peep a couple new and returning selections below.

We brought in a new Torrontes wine to try, since everyone has really loved the Tilia. Try the Zuccardi! And, if you love a Chardonnay with not much oak, why not give this fruity and delicious Chenin Blanc from South Africa a ring. Lastly, who can argue with Spanish rosé on a warm summer day??

Classic trivia tnite starting at 7. No food truck juuuuust yet, so feel free to bring in dinner. Let’s hang; let’s cool off with a drinky in our comfy taproom.
