Be cautious In Virginia, most fawns are born in May and June. While fawns can be born throughout April through July, the peak birth season is in these two months. The specific week for the majority of births is often in the last week of May or the first week of June, coinciding with the peak nutritional value of vegetation.

The first 7 days of a white-tailed deer's life are the most important. For most of the fawns born in Virginia this will be somewhere between May and June.
