Week Highlights & Tips
Music rules Johnson City (Down Home, Hideaway, breweries) with country/rock depth; Abingdon adds BBQ/pub intimacy and theater; Bristol delivers big-country at Paramount. St. Paddy’s fests blend food + live sets for community feel. Budget picks: free festivals/open mics; $10–25 for ticketed gigs/theater. Book Barter/Paramount ahead; outdoor fests weather-dependent. Check primary sites (visitjohnsoncitytn.com, venue pages) for updates or last-minute adds. Sparse elsewhere—head to JC for max options. Grab a local brew and enjoy the live sounds!

Had an amazing lunch today at The Pakalachian in Abingdon, VA! This gem blends Pakistani flavors with Appalachian vibes in the best way—supporting local and serving up creative, delicious fusion right in the heart of Southwest Virginia.
I went with the JalCrazy chicken (think their take on a spicy, vibrant chicken dish), and it was perfect: light, incredibly flavorful with just the right kick, and exactly what you want for lunch—satisfying without leaving you feeling heavy or tired afterward.
If you're in the area, swing by their brick-and-mortar spot at 238 West Main Street and treat yourself!

I'm out here in the Tri-Cities, where the Appalachian ridges roll under a crisp March sky, and the towns hum with a quiet energy—Johnson City brewing up its college-town vibe, Kingsport steady as ever, Bristol straddling the state line, and Abingdon tucked in with its historic charm. This week's lineup leans light on the events front, folks; early March 2026 isn't bursting with gigs or gatherings, maybe folks are shaking off winter. But there's enough to chase down some live sounds, a theatrical flair, and farm-fresh bites that tie into the local roots. I've scouted the calendars—no major festivals or packed concert runs, but a handful of spots for music lovers, performers, and those craving community-rooted meals. If things look slim, hit up the venues directly for last-minute adds or head to standby spots like breweries for impromptu tunes.
