I wanted to share a little more about Be Herd. It’s an informal gathering~not a class or scheduled program~and I’ll offer it whenever I’m at the farm.
The idea comes from my own life experiences and knowing how much it can help to have a place to land softly, talk, or simply spend time with the animals after a stressful day. Sometimes you just need a chance to let things out before heading home.
There’s a story behind the logo, too. The horse in it represents Dream Horse Natcho Inspiration~a name I choose for her five years ago. Be Herd is one piece of my growing vision for the future of our farm: a place where people can find connection, encouragement, and time with the animals.
There’s no pressure to share. You can talk, listen, groom a horse, or just enjoy a quiet moment. Come as you are.

The after-school horsemanship program is not a riding lesson program at this time. With only a two-hour window and the low cost of the program, I couldn’t safely offer riding lessons while still giving each child the individual attention they would need. The cost is per day and there is no obligation or commitment. But the spot needs to be reseeved to participate.

What they will be learning is the foundation that makes someone a better, safer rider — how to care for horses, handle them safely, build trust and confidence, understand their behavior, and develop the awareness and foresight that come from really learning to work with horses.

My hope is to eventually be able to offer low-cost riding lessons as well; I’m just not quite there yet. For now, this program gives kids a wonderful opportunity to build real horsemanship skills and a relationship with the horses first. ❤️

As I continue working toward a vision that has been close to my heart for many years, I’m beginning to develop additional horsemanship programs for adults, children under 12, seniors, and veterans. Many of these opportunities will likely take place on weekends.

My intention is not for personal profit, but to create meaningful, affordable opportunities for people to connect with horses while helping the animals and their care become self-supporting. My ultimate goal is to establish Dream Horse Equine Connections as a recognized nonprofit so these experiences can become accessible to even more members of our community.

I’m also incredibly grateful to have the support of a friend who operates an established nonprofit and has agreed to serve as my fiscal sponsor while I work toward obtaining nonprofit status. Once our formal fiscal-sponsorship arrangement is in place, qualifying charitable donations and grant funds may be received and administered through her organization for approved programs that support our shared charitable purpose. This will allow me to begin developing programs, fundraising, and serving the community under the guidance and financial oversight of an established nonprofit while my own organization continues through the development and approval process.

These programs are still taking shape, and I would truly value your input. If there is a particular program you would like to see offered—or an idea you believe could benefit our community—please feel free to reach out. I would love to hear your suggestions as I continue bringing this vision to life. 🐴💛

🐴 Breed of the Week: The Canadian Horse 🇨🇦
