We have retained every female out of this “cow family.” They offer fertility, longevity, great udders, good feet, and are moderate framed! This bull should make some stellar replacements! “Rawhide” has been impressive since he hit the ground! Going back to “Rawhide 201” and out of a “Thor” cow, he has the maternal backing to produce heifer calves that should have beautiful udders and the ability to add some pounds at weaning.

Sale day is quickly approaching! Save the date for March 20th to join us for our fifth annual bull sale along with Sidwell Ranches. We will be offering 30 head of polled and horned bulls that come from the top end in both herds.

Sale will begin at 1:00 pm at the sidwell barn in Columbus Montana.

We will be offering genetics based around calving ease, maternal traits and growth. Pictures are a couple bulls that will be offered on sale day.

The past two weeks of weather has been a little rough for many of us calving. Wind, snow, below zero temps, and a 50 degree day yesterday with a flooded calving barn can try mine and Josh Shengle’s nerves. But, at the end of the day, a shed full of healthy calves makes it all worth it. 9 months of anticipation to see the new genetics and current sleepless nights make it all worth it since it truly is our passion.

2019 preg check/precondition/weaning is in the books. Josh and I couldn’t be happier with the results this year. 100% on heifers, 97% on cows! February is going to be busy! Thanks for the pics Bill and Janice. 😉. Glad someone remembered their phone!
