WESTWIND SBITTER 🍎

Some apples you plant.
Others you discover.

Westwind Sbitter is one of the few varieties that made it through the freeze in May. We found the mother tree tucked away in the orchard, close to an old stone wall.

When we tasted those little apples, we knew right away there was something special there—a full bittersweet apple, small but not a crab apple, intensely flavorful and incredibly productive.

So we decided to give it a future.

We propagated the tree, and today, that one discovery has become 400 trees in our orchard. 🌱

Harvest comes in mid-to-late September, when these small apples are ready to show us what they can do.

A forgotten apple, a stone wall, a lucky discovery—and now, a whole new generation growing in our orchard. 🍏
