🥩 Beef Tip Tuesday: Let’s Talk Beef Tips & Kabobs! 🔥

When it comes to making beef kabobs, the beef gets most of the attention—but the skewer you use can make a difference too!

Wooden/Bamboo Skewers
✅ Inexpensive and disposable
✅ Great for smaller batches
✅ Easy cleanup

⚠️ The downside? They can burn on the grill. To help prevent that, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before threading your meat and vegetables.

Metal Skewers
✅ Reusable for years
✅ Won’t burn or break
✅ Conduct heat through the center of the meat, helping beef tips cook a little more evenly

⚠️ The downside? They get HOT. Use tongs or heat-resistant gloves when turning them.

A Few More Kabob Tips:
🥩 Cut your beef into similar-sized pieces so everything cooks evenly.
🥩 Leave a little space between pieces instead of packing them tightly together.
🥩 If you’re using vegetables that cook slower than beef (like potatoes), cook them separately or partially cook them first.
🥩 Don’t overcook your beef tips—medium-rare to medium keeps them tender and juicy.

At the end of the day, both wooden and metal skewers will get the job done. The real secret is starting with quality beef and not overcooking it!

If you’ve ever tried to flip a kabob and the meat spins while the skewer stays put, you’re using the wrong skewer. Flat metal skewers solve that problem and can help your beef tips cook more evenly. Our recommendation is linked below 👇🏻

🥩 Meat-Up Monday: To Tie or Not To Tie?

If you've ever purchased a roast or steak that was wrapped with butcher's twine, you may have wondered if the string is actually necessary.

The answer? Usually not—but it can make a difference.

When a roast is tied, it helps the meat hold a more uniform shape during cooking. A roast that keeps its shape tends to cook more evenly from end to end and often slices into neater, more attractive portions.

For some cuts, tying can also help the roast stay more compact as connective tissues break down during cooking. Without the twine, the roast may naturally spread apart, separate into muscle groups, or even begin to shred more as it becomes tender.

That doesn't mean it's ruined!

In fact, if you're planning to make shredded beef sandwiches, tacos, or pulled beef, removing the twine may not matter at all. But if your goal is a beautiful roast that can be sliced and served at the dinner table, leaving the twine on during cooking can help the roast maintain its shape.

The same applies to steaks like tenderloin filets or petite tenders. The twine simply helps them stay round and uniform—it doesn't make them more tender or change the flavor.

So the next time you see a roast tied with butcher's twine, think of it as a helping hand, not a requirement.

✔️ Want neat slices? Leave it tied.
✔️ Want shredded beef? It probably won't matter.
✔️ Either way, you're still getting great beef.

🧐 Sunday Inspiration

Some weeks are just harder than others.

For whatever reason, we all go through ups and downs. Days, weeks, and even months that seem to pile up with more stress, more responsibilities, and more burdens than others.

Sometimes it’s not even one big thing.

It’s the busyness.
The endless to-do lists.
The schedules.
The physical aches and pains that seem to show up out of nowhere.
The worry over loved ones.
The unexpected bills.
The disappointments.
The things that keep us awake at night.

And what sometimes feels like a huge problem to us may seem small compared to what someone else is facing. But that doesn’t make our struggles any less real. We all carry burdens that others may never see.

But here’s the thing…

I know that every day I can turn those troubles over to God, and He carries me through them.

God never promised earthly life would be easy. He never said, “Follow Me and you’ll never experience stress, loss, heartache, sickness, or difficult seasons.”

What He does promise is that we don’t have to face those things alone.

He promises His presence when we feel lonely.
His strength when we feel weak.
His comfort when we’re hurting.
And His peace when life feels overwhelming.

Some weeks remind us just how much we need Him.

When everything is going well, it’s easy to feel like we’re in control. But when life gets heavy, we’re reminded that we were never meant to carry it all ourselves.

So if this has been one of those weeks for you, give it to Him.

The stress.
The busyness.
The physical pain.
The worry.
The uncertainty.
The burden you’ve been carrying that nobody else knows about.

All he asks of us in return is to bring it to Him. To trust Him with it. To lay it at His feet and believe He is already working in ways we cannot see.

The circumstances may not change overnight.

The pain may not instantly disappear.

The schedule may still be full tomorrow morning.

But God can give you the strength to face it, the peace to endure it, and the faith to keep moving forward one day at a time.

And sometimes that’s exactly the miracle we need.

📖 “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
