It is with a heavy heart I had to say goodbye to my Dad and friend yesterday. For those who knew him you would know that he had the most captivating personality and had so many stories of his experiences. Many may not know that he had been sober for over thirty years and has spent most of those years trying to make up for the mistakes he made during the time prior to being sober. As a kid I remember him either not being at events or showing up drunk and embarrassing me. As a teenager all my friends loved to come over to hang out with him. I used to think they liked him more than they did me!! LOL Recently he had been at all the gatherings we had and even though he was uncomfortable with everyone drinking around him he showed up and stayed. If any of us needed a ride he would drive hours to take us wherever we needed to go.
Although he may not have healed all of our wounds he did try to be there for us and he will be missed. Love you Dad!!

While at Disneyland I always stop by to see the statue of Walt Disney and Mickey as it always inspires me to remember to Never Give up on my dreams,

I once read about Walt Disney's early struggles and how he never gave up on his dreams and the vision to create a place where kids and their parents could go and spend time together.

Walt Disney struggled in his early career building his animation business losing employees and even the copyright to his first character. Even when he was trying to get financing to fund Disneyland nobody saw his vision and banks refused to loan him money. He never gave up, turned to television which was a great move, and now millions of people around the world enjoy his theme parks and movies

There are always going to be difficult times and keeping focused and never giving up on your goals and dreams when the going gets hard is the secret to success.
