We are crazy (well I am 😜) and went into Tractor Supply and they had my favorite chicken breed, Buff Orphington so I got 4. Then I saw cute ducklings and needed those. So now we have 6 chicks and 2 ducklings in our mud room until the are big enough to join the rest of the flock! Wanted to share the cutest video, no judgement please I just cleaned the pen today and they made a mess already. 😅

We have had quite the summer with baby chicks hatching outside in the coop. I think we’ve had 8 so far, 5 survivors and 4 the hawks got. This little chick was born with her embryo attached to her butt (unubsorbed embryo). So we had to bring her inside for some TLC. She is 2 days old and slowly getting stronger. Owning a small farm is fun but it’s also a lot of work. There is always someone who needs something. 😂😂😂 We will keep you updated on the chicks progress. (Afraid to name her just yet).

Child labor laws don’t apply to farm kids right?!?!In all seriousness Teddy takes his job of delivering eggs very seriously. We did 6 deliveries tonight and he delivered over 120 eggs. 🥚 🐣 🥚

Our ladies have been hard at work! 93 eggs in the past 4 days! 🐣 We also have 2 broody hens who we haven’t collected eggs from so we should have some chicks in the next 2 weeks. If you are local, let me know if you want or need any. I’ll deliver! 🥚

Just a quick little update on Sunshine our house chicken. She has graduated to spending her days outside but still comes in every night to sleep (in a cage). The most hilarious part, although it’s all comical is she laid her first egg this week in her cage. 🤣🤣 We love our girl! 🥹

Christmas is my favorite time, when all your trees can be mine. So do not throw your trees away, bring them to me your favorite goat Babe! 🌲 Ps message my mom if you have a tree you want to drop off.

There is a reason donkeys are often referred to as asses. We got a knock on our door at 9:30pm tonight that our donkeys were loose. We found them about a 1/2 mile from the house happy as can be hanging out in someone else’s pasture making friends with their horses, cows and goats. It took us an hour to corral them and about just as long to walk them home. That’s the most exercise the 4 of us have gotten in years. 😂😂There is never a dull moment on our farm.
