Let’s talk balance. 🙌

When I build a board, I’m thinking about more than just “what’s pretty” — I’m considering texture, flavor, portioning, and color flow.

So here’s what I focus on:

🧀 Texture: Soft cheeses vs. firm, crunchy nuts vs. juicy berries — every bite should contrast the last.

🍇 Flavor: I like to pair sweet fruits with sharp cheeses or salty meats. (Yes to chocolate-covered almonds next to blackberries 👀)

🎨 Color: The board should move your eyes. Try creating flow with ingredients in the same color family — but in different textures (fresh grapes, dried fruit, fruit leather, etc.)

🍽 Portions: If it’s not meant to be a meal, I aim for 3–4 bites per person of each major component — meat, cheese, cracker, fruit.
