🤍Faithfulness is not the same thing as doing everything🤍
Galatians 6:4 ~
“But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.”
Have you ever walked through a garden and noticed how every row needs something different?
One needs watering…
Another needs weeding…
Another is ready to harvest…
And one little row might not look like it’s doing much of anything yet…
But you can’t spend all day tending everybody else’s rows and expect your own to flourish.
Sometimes we get so busy looking at what everybody else is doing that we forget what God has placed in front of us.
We compare our progress…
We question our timing…
We take on responsibilities that were never ours…
We try to fix things God hasn’t asked us to fix…
And before long, we’re exhausted… not because we’ve been faithful to our assignment, but because we’ve been trying to manage everybody else’s.
Friend, you can love people without carrying every part of their lives! 🙌🏼
You can encourage someone without comparing your journey to theirs.
You can celebrate another person’s harvest without questioning why yours looks different.
And you can say no to something good when it would pull you away from what God has actually called you to do.
Galatians 6 reminds us to examine our own work rather than measuring ourselves against someone else.
That doesn’t mean we stop helping one another. Scripture also calls us to bear one another’s burdens.
But there is a difference between helping someone carry a burden and trying to live their entire life for them.
There is a difference between being available and being responsible for everything! 🙌🏼
And there is a difference between being fruitful and being busy.
God did not ask you to tend every row in the field.
He asked you to be faithful with the one He entrusted to you.
So today, take a look at what’s growing right in front of you.
Your family…
Your calling…
Your work…
Your relationships…
Your time with Him…
What needs your attention?
What needs to be released?
And what have you been neglecting because you’ve been so busy looking over the fence?
You don’t have to prove your faithfulness by being exhausted.
You don’t have to compete with somebody else’s calling.
And you don’t have to make your row look like theirs.
Just tend what God has entrusted to you! 🙌🏼
The harvest is His.
The faithfulness is yours.
Jesus, help me recognize what You have entrusted to me and what You have not. Free me from comparison, unnecessary pressure, and the need to manage everything around me. Teach me to love others well while remaining faithful to my own responsibilities. Give me wisdom to know what to tend, what to release, and when to simply trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen! 🤍
