We've been slowly but surely getting our meat cooler restocked!
We are so blessed to have access to all of this locally raised livestock. We're so grateful for the farmers who allow us to share it with all of you! I think if you do a quick price compare with the big box grocery, you'll also be pleasantly surprised that you can find better bang for your buck here by supporting local.
Here are the cuts we currently have as well as tempeh for our vegetarian and vegan friends.

4 Ways to Support You Favorite Small Businesses in a Storm… from Anywhere!
Here in Portland, TN, we got 8" of snow with some areas receiving more. Winter storms like this are rare events in these parts, so we pretty much shut it all down. We don’t have the proper equipment to effectively clear the roads, and we often end up with a lot of ice.
Literally and figuratively speaking, any type of storm can be devastating to a small business. Losing revenue for even ½ a day can negatively affect the financial stability of local mom and pop shops. Daily cash flow is imperative to covering expenses such as payroll and utilities, and hourly employees may suffer when their paychecks are smaller.
Here are four ways you can support your favorite small businesses in any kid of storm.
1) HELP SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT ADJUSTED HOURS. Like, comment, and share any social media posts announcing closures and operating hours. Some businesses may even re-open on days they are normally closed to make up lost revenue.
2) SHOP ONLINE. Virtually visit your favorite stores’ e-commerce site and shop online. Purchasing gift cards and/or merchandise can provide a much-needed sales boost. You may also find discount codes and deals as incentives to spend a little extra. Order items to be shipped, picked up in store upon reopening, or delivered according to what options are available.
3) LEAVE REVIEWS AND SHARE POSITIVE FEEDBACK. Whether people are snowed in or quarantined from a pandemic, we all know we spend a ton of time mindlessly scrolling all the social channels. While you’re at it, take a few moments to leave a 5-star review or leave positive feedback on your fave businesses google listing or page. Make a post sharing a great experience you had and tag them or share one of their posts to help promote.
4) SHOP LOCAL AS SOON AS THE STORM CLEARS. As soon as you see those doors are open again, head down to your favorite mom and pop shop to give them, not only, a financial boost, but a morale boost that will certainly give them the desire to keep going.
Owning a small business is not for the faint of heart, and as a small business owner, I can tell you a lot of what we do is for our community. We enjoy providing local services and solutions to help you shop close to home.
So, for being here with us in the Hollow, and to incentivize you to shop with us during this storm, we are offering 10% off your entire ONLINE purchase from now until Sunday, January 9, at 11:59 pm. Simply use code SNOW10 at checkout.
See what I did there? 10% off for nearly 10” of snow! We can ship or you can choose local pickup.

Chorizo Sausage Balls
I love a good twist on original sausage balls and this year's invention did not disappoint! I paired J's Meats local chorizo with Professor Bailey's Spicier Pimento Cheese for a sausage ball with a kick. So easy, and these would be great as a NYE hors d'oeuvre.
1 lb Chorizo
3 cups Bisquick
8 oz Professor Bailey's Spicier Pimento Cheese
8 oz Country View Southern Gem Sharp Cheddar
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Mix all ingredients and roll into one inch balls. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until bottoms are golden brown and the internal temp is 165 degrees.

🥩 Easy Steak Tips 🥩
Howdy! Michele here. 😉
I actually food prepped on Sunday which means I already had the delicious green beans cooked with Broth Stop bone broth and Gifford's smoked bacon just waiting to be paired with J's Meats and More stew meat and rice!
For the steak tips, I chopped a bunch of garlic from Oak Grove Farms and sautéed it in olive oil. I added the stew meat and some S&P. Then, I added pats of Amish roll butter. I sautéed until cooked to medium and served over a wild, brown, red, and white rice blend. The juices from the steak and the butter were so good. 🤤
Do y'all like steak tips?
Happy Thursday!
As most of you know, HH is the presenting sponsor of the Portland TN Farmers' Market. I, Michele, love managing the market and feel it's bitter sweet when the market comes to an end.
I wanted to let you know where you can continue to get fresh goodies in the area now that the market has wrapped for the season.
