Takoda is the star for this week’s Funny Face Friday. Don’t be fooled by her goofy face here - Takoda is a beauty!

Fun fact about Takoda: she “hugs” me before getting down from the milking stand every time I milk her. It’s the sweetest thing. She puts her head on my chest and looks up into my eyes. I love this girl!

The praying mantis is the BEST kind of insect to spot in your raspberry patch…or your entire garden (and we have a bunch of them right now!).

Praying mantises are strict carnivores, which means they’ll eat all of the bugs, worms, caterpillars, etc that WANT to destroy your garden….but the praying mantis will not harm your plants. What a great, natural pest control.

They’re pretty cool to watch, too!

I just got an order of 10 bars of goat milk soap ready to go (sorry, I could only hold 5 of them!)

AND…

My headbands from Sunny Scrunchie Co. arrived today! I love them. Headbands are a MUST for me to keep my hair out of my face while I do farm chores. Or cook. Or anything, basically. I recently chopped off all of my hair, so no more lazy ponytails for me!

ALSO….

I’ve been working behind the scenes to get my fall soap launch ready. For the first time, I’ll actually have a website to order soaps and salves from! Since soaps need to cure for a while, the launch is still a ways away, but I’ll keep everyone updated as it gets closer!

The raspberries have been slower this season, but I think it’s safe to say that they’re doing well now. This is what I could easily reach this morning.

Last year’s raspberries won Best In Show at our county fair. We had so many that we are STILL eating the frozen berries from last year.

May we have that problem again 😋
