Sunglade Flowers A Small Farm In The Selkirk Mountains

North Star is a small flower farm tucked away in the mountains of the Inland Northwest.

We specialize in growing unique flower varieties with delicate sweet peas climbing through the spring and early summer, wild rose hips foraged for stunning arrangements in the fall, and a bounty of seed-grown and native varieties throughout the growing season. Our field of flowers is surrounded by a grove of aspen with snowberries dancing at the base of their trunks and at the height of the season you’ll find endless pollinators buzzing from flower to flower. One of my favorite times of day is walking through the flower rows first thing in the morning when the poppies open up with the sun and our neighbor’s honey bees venture over to feed on the pollen. We offer wedding and event floral services, field bouquets, and flowers by the bucket (bulk flowers for diy events or weddings). The rows of flowers are kissed by the sun, filled with enchantment, and designed with the inspiration of nature. I hope that when we share our flowers with you, you find the magic in their imperfect beauty and they bring you a sense of connection to nature.

Since they prefer to be a fall-planted flower, please do not divide them until after summer and note that they’ll be focusing on establishing strong healthy roots so you may not get flowers until next year.

Also, if you’re a business (with a reseller’s permit) or farmer, shoot me a text for wholesale pricing!

Fresh flowers are at the Leonard Paul in Priest Lake! 🌸🌿

It’s been a crazy busy year and I have spent more time in the truck with flowers than just about anything else. No complaints here!

Some tips to help your flowers last longer after getting them home:
• Change their water every day or two
• When you change the water, trim the stems back
• Keep them out of direct sunlight and away from produce

Don’t worry too much about tossing pennies, bleach, or vodka in the vase! Most flowers do best in fresh clean water! If you’re going to add anything, reach for the floral food packets that come with the flowers.

One of my favorite sweet pea varieties: Nimbus 🖤

It’s been dry and hot and not a great year for sweet peas but they’re continuing to bloom as we get ready to head in to August and it’s looking like there will be some decent seed production.

Nimbus was one of the better varieties this season — it always reminds me of moody thunder storms. ⛈️
