We’ve had two surprises in two days here on the farm. First of all yesterday, we found Matilda had bunnies!
Then today we were absolutely shocked to see Ozzie Wuzborne  proudly walking around the barnyard with nine chicks!!! we didn’t even know she was expecting 😅🤣

Our paw patrol includes 4 canines. Two livestock guardian dogs, a Pyrenees, an Anatolian, Akbash, and Pyrenees mix, a blue heeler and her daughter (daughter is a mix of Heeler, Rottweiler, German Shepherd and Border collie).

They are the best paw patrol that ever was.

Our blue heeler is the queen. 
She’s been with us the longest and understands English and has helped us train all the others. I didn’t have to train any of the dogs not to chase the chicken chickens. The queen taught them not to is all I can figure.

I thought I would introduce you all to our rock ‘n’ roll chickens. These are rock ‘n’ roll chickens because the kids say so. I was just informed that this particular chicken’s name is Ozzy Wosborn.
Ozzy is actually a hen and of a rare breed called a Mottled Houdan chicken. She lays pure white eggs. 

According to the kids, she is going off the rails of this crazy roost in this photo.

This weekend we were blessed to add two registered Nigerian Does to the farm. They are both expecting in May. Nigerian dwarfs produce quality milk with about 10% cream.  Although I’ve not had it yet many people say that their milk is the best of all the goat milk.  Their names are Rocking Harley and Juba Skipper. 

Our ducks have begun to lay, and I have French Black Copper Maran eggs due to hatch very soon!

I've been quiet on here but it's only because we've been SO busy around our little farm! Do you love colorful eggs? One of the first things we will have available soon is CHICKS! I've included pictures of the egg colors we are getting. It's a challenge to get pictures that accurately represent how beautiful the colors are but I think I got pretty close!
