At Gold Medal BBQ we work with hot dogs often during the week, for our crew lunch, as we build out the new retail space located in the Gold Medal BBQ Building. This week we will get our version of the Skeeter Dog on a plate.

My trip to Rockwell to see a Hot Dog and Ice Cream place turned into more travel to see the Olde Creamery locations in Mason City and Garner, IA.

Very impressive with what I saw and the discussions that I had with the Company afterwards. As a result has turned into me taking on the Company's Scooped Ice Cream products. See link in comments.

The Rockwell location was once an old gas station. Now home to Woody's. Attractive to me because growing up my nickname was Woody. And when I owned a Furniture Store business in Valley Junction I named it Woody's.

I continue to look at food places all across the Country. I am impressed with the small places that are popular and successful. Like Dave's Burgers, Longbeach, CA that sent my way in a PM by a friend.

A short drive from Sioux City is LeMars, the home of Blue Bunny Ice Cream. Bob's Drive Inn gets great reviews, is very popular and is a place on my to go to list.

Been around for a long time as the picture shows. Remodeled, expanded and now serving a large menu that includes a loose meat beef sandwich and hot dogs. Both very good.
