Frosty Acres Ranch The Albaughs aim to provide a superior eating experience for their customers.

We believe you will find our grassfed beef to be of the finest and highest quality you will find anywhere. Ranching is a family tradition for the Albaugh's who have owned and operated Frosty Acres since 1937. Frosty Acres, located in a pristine valley in Northeastern California, raises quality grass-fed Shorthorn Cattle. Our grandpa purchased the purebred Shorthorn cattle in 1946 and we are very p

roud of our heritage. Genetics from our herd can be traced back to the 1820s via the American Shorthorn Association’s original two herd books. In doing so, our registered Shorthorn cattle qualify for the “Native Program.” The Native designation is distinctive and unique as there are less than 500 animals in the US that have been identified to qualify for this program. The Shorthorn, because of its ability to efficiently convert forage and its proven marbling and early finishing characteristics, is the ideal breed for the production of choice, gourmet grass-fed beef. All of our cattle are raised on native grass and forage, breath clean, fresh mountain air, and drink from crystal clear streams and springs from the surrounding Cascade Mountain Range
