Our goal is to produce quality Red Angus cattle that compete in the show ring and excel in the pasture.
Operating as usual
It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt!!!
After transitioning a majority of our flock to fall lambing this year, it’s strange to only have a few newborn lambs in the barn right now. Though this set of twins really enjoyed getting out of the lambing jug and running around in the new shavings.
Another calving season is upon us. Couldn’t ask for better weather for the babies. This little guy is sired by JCL Hoss 931G and I think he’s gonna be a hoss!!
Tomorrow is sale day here at the Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale. Come check out lots 360 and 361 if you want to add a bull to your herd that will make some impressive replacement females!
Congratulations to Natalie Johnson, Flat Iron Red Angus, on her Champion Red Angus female at the New Year’s Beef Bash in Nebraska. What a great way to start out the New Year for these two. The heifer, KB Liberty 7121, sold as lot 22 in the Bet on Red Sale in Reno this past November. Keep up the good work ladies!!!
We love it when our customers do well with our cattle. This Shorthorn steer was bought private treaty this fall and is off to a great start. Most recently, he was Champion lightweight British steer in ring A, third overall British steer in ring A, and Reserve lightweight British steer in ring B at Northern Exposure this weekend. Congratulations Kiley and her steer Carl!
Today’s sale day!! Bet on Red in Reno, NV. The parade of cattle begins at 10:00, lunch at 11:30 and sale is at 1:00 pm. Can’t make the sale, that’s ok. It’s online at https://dvauction.com. Or message us and we can help. Lots 22 & 23.
So, here is another heifer that is consigned to Bet On Red in Reno this week. We didn’t use her catalog photo because honestly, it doesn’t do her justice. Not only could she do great as a show heifer, but we truly can’t wait to see what she does as a cow! The rib shape and overall depth on this girl is awesome! This heifer is such an easy keeper and to top it off she has such a great disposition. She has it all. Make time to check her out, you won’t regret it.

It’s that time again, Bet on Red Sale in Reno, Saturday, November 6th. This dark red February heifer has been a stand out since she was born and keeps getting better by the week. She’s sired by KJHT PTO.

We have a few registered heifers available. Message us for more information.
We are in the middle of halter breaking heifer and steer calves to get ready for upcoming sales and one thing that always amazes us is how quickly these calves adapt to new things. After his fourth time on the halter, this steer calf was already letting us lead him around and had no issue with getting washed and blown. Putting emphasis on docility within our herd over the years has definitely paid off year after year.
Jackson County Harvest Fair September 24-26!!
We are going to be doing online entries this year. With 100% volunteer staff we will be freeing up an enormous amount of time with online entries. The links to enter are below. Opened up another pasture for the girls this morning. Wish we could get a little rain, but everything is so stinkin dry. Sure don’t need any more 🔥.
One of the heifers that we will be consigning to the Jackson County Harvest Fair. This is the first time she’s been in the wash rack, and let me tell
you she acted like she’s been there a dozen times. Certainly one for a first timer!!!
A big congratulations to Kiley for her hard work and a big win at the Intermountain Fair, Supreme female. Heifer is Jake’s Proud Jazz x Red Soo Line Power Eye 161X. Purchased at Jackson County Harvest Fair.
Round one of halter breaking. Calves are settling in.
Such good co-pilots! ❤️❤️
Much needed therapy today (at least it wasn’t retail therapy) checking cows, checking water, and making sure salt and protein tubs are good. Cows and calves are doing great. Here is a heifer that will be in Reno this fall. She’s coming along pretty nice! (They were shaded up, so my pic isn’t the greatest) 🤣
