I have been asked several times why filled cakes cost more. The answer is simple.

Time and ingredients!

I make the filling from scratch. We all know what grocery prices are! Then it has to cool and set before I can fill the cake.

Filled cakes require more time inside the fridge after not one, but two, crumb coats to make sure the filling doesn’t leak out. Again, more time and more buttercream. Not to mention the dam I build.

Plot twist, the filling still leaked and I had to scrape and patch the leaky cake, smooth and chill again!

Honestly, filled cakes aren’t my jam (see what I did there 😂) because I love buttercream. But, I will make anything you all ask me to!
