Memorial Day, The McQuillen family hosted a fund raiser event called The "MURPH" Workout. Named after Metal of Honor recipient Michael P Murphy who was KIA in Afghanistan. The workout includes one mile run, 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 air squats and the another one mile run.
This wonderful event netted $1245.00. May 26th, After the entire McQuillen family helped the VFW members pick up the 142 flags at the cemetery, Lyndsey McQuillen presented our quartermaster Howard Cox, with the $1245.00. 1/2 will go the the Adrian Veterans of Foreign Wars and the other half will go to the LT Charles Garrison Veterans Memorial.
Lyndsey reported that there was great participation this year and they are planning on doing the event again next Memorial Day.
The veterans truly appreciate the McQuillen family and the community for their generosity.

To anyone that was planning on helping the VFW pick up the 142 US Flags at the cemetery. We had to change our pickup time. We will start getting ready at the Post at noon, then head to the cemetery. Tuesday. May 26th.

Please join us at the Lt Charles Garrison Veteran's Memorial in Adrian Saturday May 23rd at 10:00 am. This is our annual ceremony remembering our lost heroes.
Our keynote speaker this year is Commander Mike Haffner, a highly decorated Navy F 18 fighter pilot.
Rifle salute by the Rich Hill Honor Guard and taps by Hayden Schapeler.
We have four beautifully performed vocals scheduled and a powerful POW/MIA ceremony by the Adrian Veteran's of Foreign Wars..
The program is about one hour. We truly appreciate your attendance and support.

The Adrian Lion's Club has always so generous to the veterans.
And this year is no different. Wednesday May 6th, Joey Bailey with the Adrian Lion's, presented our VFW Quartermaster Howard Cox with a donation of $500.00. It is very much appreciated!!

Stop by our booth at the swap meet in Frontier Village March 27 and 28. Everyone gets free coffee all day, Friday and Saturday. And if you're Vet, lets see if you qualify to join the Veteran's of Foreign Wars. We'd love to have you.
