ROCKY FIELD FARM was founded in 1796, on lands known as Weiss’ valley, on the banks of the sinking branch of Lick Creek. Nine generations of the Hughes family’s ancestors have lived, owned and farmed this land since the initial settling. The current owners, Wayne and Pamela Hughes acquired the farm in 1993. OUR MISSION is simple:

• We aim to provide the best and highest quality grain finished Angus beef.
• We guarantee NEVER to use any type of added hormones or steroids.
• NO antibiotics.
• NO preservatives, dyes or fillers are ever used during the processing and packaging at the USDA processing plant. Like to know what’s in your beef? ROCKY FIELD FARM is dedicated to raising all natural Angus beef in a calm, low stress environment. We utilize proper handling equipment and techniques prescribed by Temple Grandin a world renowned expert in cattle handling. Our cattle graze freely on over 200 acres of all natural pastures. NO chemical herbicides or pesticides are used on any of our grasses. Our herd is comprised of pure bred Angus genetics and the mother cows are bred to registered Angus bulls. Our calves are raised strictly on their mother’s milk and after weaning on all natural grasses in our pasture. They are finished the last 120 days, prior to harvest, on grains and hay.

The Farm to Table Dinner is the largest fundraiser for Jonesborough Locally Grown, the 501c3 non-profit that operates both the Jonesborough Farmers Market and Boone Street Market. Our vision is that:
✨local food producers thrive and expand in a sustainable market (our farmers keep over 75 cents on the dollar compared to the nationwide average of 16 cents of every food dollar spent by you)
✨consumers choose farm fresh, locally grown food in a reliable market
✨education and community events build strong relationships between farmers and consumers.
Supporting us means supporting local food that has traveled far fewer miles and has a smaller carbon footprint, and letting your money stay in the local economy with more of it going directly to your farmer.
