Dear Friends of Brinny’s Hand Pies,

This news is hard to share, but Brinny’s will have to suspend production.

I love making Brinny’s hand pies for you all, but I’m experiencing a health setback and need time to heal.

I have a neuromuscular disorder, in the family of muscular dystrophy. It’s called Mitochondrial disease, and I was born with it.

Generally, I manage it well, but I’ve had a setback that I cannot WAIT to bounce back from!

I am incredibly grateful to my family, my partner Emmanuel and friends for being by my side through this difficult time.

I don’t typically share this type of information  on social media. However, I thought it might be the easiest way to inform my wonderful customers why I’m taking this unfortunate pause in production.

As soon as I leave the hospital, I can’t wait to develop tasty new pies fillings! I have SO many ideas!

I miss you and can’t wait to make pies for you again soon!

Drunken apricot is one of the newer items on our menu. It is in an open galette made with our all butter flaky crust and there’s a little crumb topping. We called this drunken apricot because of the little splash of spiced rum that we put in it that is a perfect accent to the apricot and peach filling. Remember Friday is our delivery day! Place your order before 9 o’clock am on Friday so I can plan to add you to my delivery route! Check out our other sweet and savory hand pies varieties on our menu. As an FYI Drunken Apricot is also offered as a gluten-free “pan” pie option! Looking forward to seeing your smiling faces and I hope you are having a wonderful day:-)
