Found this little guy hanging out at the farmstand today. 🐢

Thankfully we spotted him before he got run over, so he hung out with the boys while we finished our work.

Once we were done, he was safely returned to continue whatever very important turtle business he had planned.

Current speed: approximately 3 feet per hour 😂

People always ask if we're home when customers stop by.

The answer is yes. 😂

One of the best parts of a self-serve farmstand is being able to browse, shop, and enjoy the farm without feeling rushed, pressured, or watched.

Saturday Update ❤️

This morning's baking plans took a back seat to an 8-year-old with a vision and a pile of scrap wood 😂

So quantities are a little limited today:

Farmstand Update! 🚧

We have bread, cookies, a few sourdough biscuits, and our homestyle gravy mixes stocked today! 🍞🍪

You'll notice there's finally a gravel walkway to the stand!

The left side is looking pretty good.

The right side looks like Mom got access to a tractor and started three projects before breakfast 🤣

We're calling it progress.

Also, if you saw me outside working in my pajamas this morning... no you didn't 😂

The Fox Hills Homestead summer crew has officially reported for duty! ☀️

With summer break here, we’ll now have the stand open daily for eggs, produce, pantry goods, and other essentials.

Regular fresh baked goods will still be stocked Thursday–Saturday 🍪🍞

So if you hear chaos in the distance this summer… just know the boys are “helping” 😂

We’re working on restocking pantry mixes in the farmstand and wanted to share the story behind Mema’s Meatloaf Mix ❤️

Growing up, we were taught to politely eat what was put in front of you. So when Mema accidentally used hot chili peppers instead of regular peppers in her meatloaf one night… we all just sat there in respectful solidarity looking at each other while our mouths and eyes were on fire 🌶️🔥🤣

Thankfully this version comes with much less risk… though the story still gets plenty of laughs 😂

As we close up and regroup for the week, one of our favorite things to do is read through the notebook in the stand ❤️

There are always such sweet notes, random doodles, and hilarious comments from kiddos — we never quite know what we’re going to find in there 😂

But honestly, this little notebook has become one of the most meaningful parts of running our self-serve stand.

Thank you for all the kindness, encouragement, and laughs you leave behind for our family ❤️ Whether you’re a regular or just found us recently, we truly appreciate you!

Apparently the farmstand opens early for teenagers looking for cookies before school! 🍪

Technically we’re open from 9 AM – 7 PM at Fox Hills Homestead… but growing boys have their own schedule 😂
