We had a vistor early this morning at the store.

Today is National Farmers Day, so we're turning the camera on the people who keep a lot of local farms, ranches and backyards running: our yard and delivery crew. The WVHC yard crew loads, unloads and delivers every bale and bag that leaves this lot and shows up on our shelves.

If hay has ever shown up right when you needed it, you've met their work. Thank you to our second-to-none yard team.

Delivery across the west San Fernando Valley and Conejo Valley for a small fee. 📞 (818) 991-5210

In Santa Ana season, the air goes dry and staticky, the hills turn gold, and anyone who's lived here a while starts glancing at the ridgeline.

Nobody likes to think about it, which is exactly why we do it now, on a calm day. Swipe for our short checklist. Save it, share it with your barn, and if you'd like a printed copy, just ask.

Businesses come and go along Agoura Road. We've watched a fair number of them do it. And through all of it, WVHC has stayed put at 28339 Agoura Road, same family at the helm, same phone number for longer than some of our customers have had a phone.

There's something to be said for staying exactly where you started.

We don't do "just an animal."

Goats, geldings, backyard hens. Man's best friends and barn cats. Emus, pigs, and parrots. Every animal is a part of somebody's family, which makes them ours too.

It's why we stock the very best in animal care, and are always ready to chat feeding schedules, hutch bedding, automatic waterers, supplements...aka all of the small pieces that go into making life with your animal a happy one.

No app tells us which hay is good this week.
No algorithm decides what goes on our shelves.
We still check the color, the smell, and the leaf before a single bale gets stacked in the barn, the same way it's been done here since before most delivery apps existed.

Call it old-fashioned. We call it doing the job right, and doing what we love. ❤️️
