Back home from another awesome ! We were honored once again to be invited for our 5th year in a row. Royal Oak Charcoal always rolls out the red carpet for all the teams and provides an incredible experience for all involved. Great food, craft b**r stands, hotel rooms provided, all your comp meats - they leave no stone unturned taking care of the teams. It's very easy to understand why so many teams strive to qualify & receive that invite.

Unfortunately, we didn't have our name called on Saturday. Competing against 38 of the best teams in the country requires bringing your A+ game. Although it's truly an honor for us to be a part of this awesome group of teams. Big congrats to Chris Davis on their GC & our neighbor for the weekend Chicken Fried BBQ on his RGC. Shout out to our good friends Brian Corbett on a strong 3rd place overall finish and Mark Wetherell 1st Chicken as well everyone else that had their name called.

One of the things I enjoy the most about this event is all the teams here from around the country. It's great getting to meet these teams as well as seeing some we've met before and catching back up with them. Really enjoyed getting to know Bill Purvis aka Chicken Fried BBQ. Truly a great guy + ambassador for BBQ!

In closing, huge thanks to all the Royal Oak employees, staff, & volunteers for all they do for the teams!! They truly go above & beyond to make it an incredible experience for all the teams. Appreciate Christy Smith & Craig Verhage for all they do at this event + their support throughout the year as well. Now it's time to hit the BBQ trail starting next weekend and working on an invite to the 2027 Royal Oak Invitatiional

Always great seeing Craig Verhage + all the Royal Oak Charcoal family!! Another fun time with the Friday night people's choice event as day 2 is coming to a close. Time to fire up the pits and get the ball rolling for tomorrow.

Set up in Roswell, GA at the 7th annual Royal Oak Charcoal Invitational. Left Aiken this morning getting to see an awesome sunrise. Arrived at the Royal Oak headquarters which is a beautiful venue for a BBQ comp. Looking forward to these next couple of days + competing against many of the top teams in the country.

They roll out the red carpet for all the teams at this event! Started off with a great meal tonight + nice fellowship with all the teams.

Lots of great things coming in 2027 from Royal Oak Charcoal - especially the new partnership with Mossy Oak. Awesome looking charcoal bags coming in 2027 featuring their distinctive logo & colors.

Travelled up to Bessemer City, NC for the 5th annual Brew and Que BBQ Festival. Definitely one of our favorite contests on the SBN BBQ Trail! Jo D Franklin always does a great job organizing this event and all the folks with Bessemer City make all the cookers feel very welcome. We had another solid cook although our Ribs let us down again on this cook.

4th Place Pork
3rd place overall

Weekend worked out great for us competing in Columbia at the then getting to see my Gamecocks play tonight! We had another solid cook although our Ribs let us down.
