And just like that Kidding Season is over!
Kids born 3/19-4/14

10 Mommas and grand total of 24 kids born; unfortunately we did have 2 doelings that were still born. Smokey & Buttons unfortunately each lost 1 of their babies.

Out of all of the kids we ended up with
💙7 boys
🌸15 girls
🍼3 bottle babies
7 sets of twins
2 sets of triplets
1 set of quadruplets
12 Nigerians
8 F1 Mini Lamanchas
2 ND/F2 Mini Lamancha

We had all multiples, no singletons!

It was overall a good season! Only had to assist with 2 of the births. All of the mommas have been doing overall pretty well; minus the little bit of stress with Butternut.

Kids will be ready for new pastures starting mid May! If you are interested in adding to your herd please let us know!

Butternut’s beautiful doelings!

Butternut is a first time momma this season and the stress of 2 babies was really getting to her. She’s doing well with the buckskin baby, but the little black baby she had an issue with. We are thinking it was likely because the black baby actually nursed off Persi until Persi realized it wasn’t her child and then kicked it off her.
That baby was hungry and Butternut wouldn’t nurse her so she was going to all the mommas trying to nurse, so we have pulled her and she will be available as a bottle baby in a couple of days. We did milk Butternut down, so baby is getting colostrum from mom.

This girl gave me a scare last night!
It took 6 pairs of hands to get the last 2 babies out. The last 2 babies were breached & stuck. Thank god for best friends who have experience in these situations, who came right away no question! First baby born at 9:30pm, last baby born at 10:15pm.

Meet Button’s crew!!! Beautiful Nigerian Dwarfs!

Buttons gave birth on 4/11 to what I thought was triplets. She actually ended up having a 4th baby later on that was still born. I had no idea she had another baby as I assumed she was done because she had already delivered the placenta.

The little baby in a baby onesie we’ve been calling her Langley & her sister (brown and white) is Ella; and brother (black and white) is Rip. My kids named them.

Little Miss Langley was have a rough go at the start of her life. She couldn’t get her back leg up under her and was having trouble walking, laying down & nursing. I ended up pulling her from mom & started her on a bottle and gave meds for her leg. Her leg has corrected and she’s not having any trouble getting around now. She weighs a whopping 2 whole pounds! She’s an itty bitty thang! Rip is just as tiny as Langley but he’s mighty! And Ella is just a doll! She’s the biggest and spunkiest out of them all.

Langley is available as a bottle baby & the other babies will be available in 8 weeks when weened.

On 4/9 Alice in Wonderland gave birth to these wonderful boys!! They are so sweet and Alice is such a good momma!

Yall it’s been a crazy few days!!!
Slim Jim (Lulu’s baby boy) had to get splints, Alice has given birth to twin bucklings, Buttons had triplets this morning, kids running everywhere (human & 4 legged), spring break is coming to an end and life just got super crazy all at once!

But we are managing!!!! We now have 17 babies on the ground and 2 more mommas left to give birth!!!

Lulu has given birth to twins. A stunning tricolored buckling, and a beautiful red and white doeling.

It wasn’t an easy birth. Little boy was first to come and he was stuck in the birth canal with one of his legs being bent. After I called in my wonderful friend Rachel from Three Chicks and A Roo, LLC for some assistance, I was able to get his leg free and Lulu was able to deliver him the rest of the way. Once Rachel got here we were able to finish getting the baby boy suctioned out and then baby girl was born. We helped get her cleaned up and then let Momma Lulu do the rest. Both babies are healthy & doing amazing with their wonderful Momma Lulu!
