For now.

🎉Not anymore!🎉 Now we have nearly eleven acres to build out into paddocks and a training pen. 🐎

🔥 You are your point of attraction - be aware of using negativity, drama and fear (dirty fuel) to raise your profile

Negativity, fear and drama can be powerful fuel on social media. They attract attention, provoke reactions and can rapidly increase visibility.

But dirty fuel has consequences.

When a platform is built by attacking others, creating fear or fuelling division, the exhaust is often mistrust, defensiveness, hostility and an increasingly toxic culture.

And ultimately, that takes attention away from the thing that should matter most:

the horse.

It works the other way too - be aware of where you, the reader or observer are placing your energy. My social feed has had a good clean up - I am increasingly choosing to unfollow profiles, pages or groups that are negatively drawing attention to themselves without actually providing evidence or a solid argument to their point, or actually solving the problem they wish to highlight, no matter how well intended, or are facilitating that behaviour.

There is an important difference between challenging poor practice and building popularity around conflict. We absolutely should question evidence, raise welfare concerns and challenge ideas when necessary—but the purpose should be to improve understanding and outcomes, not simply generate engagement.

At Holistic Equine, we want to use cleaner fuel:

🌱 Education rather than fear
🌱 Evidence rather than outrage
🌱 Curiosity rather than certainty
🌱 Constructive challenge rather than personal attack
🌱 Collaboration rather than tribalism

It may not always generate the loudest conversation, but it creates something far more valuable: people who are better equipped to think critically, ask questions and make informed decisions for their horses.

You can raise a profile by creating smoke.

Or you can build something sustainable by creating light.

We choose the latter.

Better knowledge. Better decisions. Better outcomes for horses.

AI was used to generate the image.

Losing weight isn’t easy. Managing easy keepers and hard keepers together isn’t easy. I feel like we learn something new every week and every bit moves the needle for Poe and Ben.

I was almost finished mucking when they decided to come keep me company. 🤦‍♀️

I saw a really neat looking spider; it was almost the color of orange sherbet. I pulled my phone out for a photo but Mando saw it too and the picture I got was of him poking his snoot through its web. 🤣

“Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet.”

Last night I felt the rain with Opal. She came in season and was feeling quite achy. I gave her some pain relief and then a rub down. Afterwards we stood together under a tree and watched the summer rain fall around us. It was a sweet, peaceful moment.

Mando had another episode of thumps last night and now that I know it’s not just hiccups I made him up a helping of Replenimash to boost his electrolyte levels.

Something that may surprise is that Old Ben has a temper. It’s very rare to witness it and it’s actually pretty cute. But we witnessed it last night when he did NOT get a bucket of mash too. He followed me stomping his hooves and bobbing his head towards Mando’s slurping and even tried squeezing his snoot in the feed bucket. We will rectify the offense today.
