Who needs a box of crayons when you have a backyard coop? 🎨🐓

I'm officially obsessed with our new daily harvests! 🥚 Just look at the incredible gradient we have going on here. We’ve got:

💚 Earthy olive greens
🧡 Vibrant, warm terracotta and peachy-oranges
💗 Delicate, pale pinks and blush-cream

From the tiny first-timer pullet eggs to the bigger, rich-toned regulars, every single egg has its own unique signature. Some have a smooth, matte finish, while others are speckled or earthy—it's like a natural masterpiece every time we open the nest boxes!

Nature is pretty amazing, and our girls are absolutely killing it. 🌈✨ Which shade is your favorite?

Wait a minute… somebody in the chicken coop didn’t get the memo! 😅🥚

I think one of our pullets took one look at our speckled quail eggs and said, “Hold my mealworms, watch this.”

She spent an hour in the nest box putting in absolute WORK, only to come out with this adorable egg completely splashed in white polka dots! I’m not sure if she’s trying to blend in with the quail crew or if she just really loves a good starry-night paint job, but I am here for it.

The rainbow egg basket is officially getting wild around here! ✨

Egg-spectation vs. reality: Hatch watch is happening, and it’s an all-hands—err, all-paws—on deck situation! 😂🥚✨

Ari decided that the best view was from the VIP seating on my shoulders. 🐈👀

🎉 WE HAVE OUR FIRST CHICKEN EGG! 🎉

The wait is officially OVER! Look at this absolute beauty that was waiting for us in the coop today. A gorgeous pastel green/blue pullet egg! 🥚✨

The girls have been hard at work scratching, dust bathing, and rearrangement of all the sand we just raked, but clearly, someone was getting down to business behind the scenes.

One down, many more to come as the rest of the flock catches up! 🐔💚

Milestone unlocked! 🎉

One of our sweet girls laid her very first egg today, and she definitely brought her own artistic twist to it! Look at those rich brown speckles over that soft blue shell.

Did you know? The blue color comes from the Celadon gene, but those brown spots are deposited right at the end of the laying process—meaning no two speckled blue eggs look exactly alike! 🎨
We’re so excited to see her join our active layers.
How many of you are team speckled eggs? 🥚✨

🧑‍🌾 I used AI to generate what my fall garden might look. It did put a few items on the wrong sides, but the general idea is there.

🥰 If if even looks have this good I would be completely thrilled.

Row 1 (Far Back): Sugar snaps planted along both sides. 2/3 Chocolate Cherry sunflowers on the right, 1/3 Yellow sunflowers on the left.
Row 2: Pinkeye peas running along both the front and back sides.
Row 3: Broccoli, Cauliflower, and Cabbage.
Row 4: Landis Winter lettuce, Burpee Bibb, and Purple Cabbage.
Row 5: 2/3 Parris Island lettuce, 1/3 Mesclun blend.
Row 6 (Far Front): 2/3 Gourmet lettuce mix, 1/3 Mesclun blend.

They say you can't measure a big heart, and Runt (on the left) is proving that true. He may be the smallest, but he’s got the biggest spirit of all. What a tiny champ! 🐣💪

Can you believe these tiny feather babies are almost 2 weeks old already?! 🐣🌾✨ It is so amazing watching them grow every single day, especially seeing those gorgeous wing feathers pin in and spread out! 🪶🪺🤎

And of course, I have to give a extra big shoutout to this tiny sweetheart, Runt! 🥹💛 It may be small, but it's got a huge place in our hearts! 💪🐥✨
