🐎🌳 HAMILTON’S BAY- UPPERVILLE 2026 🌳

Hamilton’s Bay, owned by Erica Huyler and Duncan Huyler showed UP for the Thoroughbred divisions and inaugural $25,000 Thoroughbred Derby! Winning a class out of 67 incredible horses along with a 6th place and barely missing Reserve Champion for the Take 2 Thoroughbred division. Hammy also laid down a super respectable course in the derby.

What a privilege and an honor to have the opportunity to show under the historic oaks and in front of a HUGE crowd that all came to see and support these thoroughbreds. Thank you to both Erica and Duncan for letting me be a part of this super special experience with Hammy!

This one’s emotional- the most heartfelt congratulations to Sydney Boone on her lease of my own Radical Candor, “Randy”❤️

This horse is what every kid, and my 40 year old self, ever dreams of- from taking me around Green Incentive Finals like a pro, to swimming in a pond, Reserve Champion in Tryon, playing dress up for Halloween Trainer’s medal class, being year end Champion in the Green’s through Progressive Show Jumping and letting me compete in the Inaugural Hitchcock Woods Invitational class at the historic Show In The Woods- this boy is top class and truly the best partner. I couldn’t be more excited for Sydney and their year ahead- hoping she can have all the same fun experiences with him that I did!

Thanks to Kimbreley Hill for finding this match for Sydney. And forever thanks to Paige Briddell Cade who found this boy for me! ❤️

🌳 110th Aiken Horse Show In The Woods 🌳

Another year in the books! 📖

We started our weekend off early this year on Thursday evening for the inaugural Invitational- Radical Candor owed by myself with Kevin Igoe and Carla Robinson Igoe earning 4th place in this special new class! Super fun course in and out of the ring and very exciting prizes thanks to the generous sponsors! Randy also 2nd in the Open Handy Hunter Stakes with an 88🌷

Friday morning Cindy Falk’s Bruno Bandito brought home top honors in the Aiken Hounds Welcome Stake follow right behind by my own Radical Candor in 2nd out of a field of 36! Caroline Kelly and Caventus CB also taking 10th in the Welcome!🏆

Berlynn Morehead and Canvas Blue flawless in their first HSITW together.

Jean Rohland and Beaulieu’s Cadillac 3rd in and Adult Over Fences.

Lynn Giuliani Burke and Exclamation earning Grand Champion in the Open Pleasure with a 1st and 2nd in both of their large classes!

Cindy Falk and her Bruno Bandito also 🥉in the Future Adult Under Saddle.

And my good friend Liz Cox reunited and back in the tack on Annabelle Axinn’s famous Atticus to earn 10th in the Adult Over Fences.

Grateful to live in this town and have the opportunity to be a part of the most charmingly unique horse show in the country. Thank you to the Hitchcock Woods Foundation for all you do for this show and year round to maintain this beautiful place! 💕

🌴 We made the absolute MOST of our time at HITS! ☀️

My own Radical Candor in the 3’3 Greens and a fun jaunt around the National Derby.

Caroline Kelly and her Caventus CB in the Younger A/O’s with good ribbons as well as the National Derby with the most picturesque pink picture we all dream of 💕

Berlynn Morehead and Canvas Blue showing in the Mini Maclay, Mini Medal and .90s- working on their toughest tracks to date with big success and even bigger goals now!

Cindy Falk and Bruno Bandito 5th in the Bit of Straw Derby and good ribbons in the PreAdults. Bruno also earning 1st, 2nd and 4th in the USHJA 2’ early in the week.

Jean Rohland and Beaulieu’s Cadillac earning ribbons in a large Older Adult division as well as a 6th place out of 50+ horses in the USHJA 3’.

Carol Lynn Richards and Into The Night in the Older A/Os earning consistent ribbons including 2nd in the handy and 10th in the Amateur Derby as well.

Lynn Giuliani Burke and her own Exclaimation leading the troops for fun hacking around the show grounds.

And Aubrey Youmans earning her trip to Kentucky for Junior Hunter Finals here in Aiken, bringing home Reserve Champion in the Large 3’3 Juniors- biggest thank you to Jamie Rowland for coaching Aubrey with both Carry Me Home and Baccarat to success while we were gone!

Not only were our horses good but we had the best time together with the best barn family. True roomies now, late nights watching the Grand Prix at WEC, everyone supporting and rooting for one another.

Lastly, the BIGGEST thanks to Cassie Lopez and Madison Peck- 1,000% could not have managed this week without you both!

Congratulations to Aubrey Youmans and her mare Carry Me Home- OFFICALLY qualified for Junior Hunter Finals 2026! 🎉 Aubrey and Rowan earning Reserve Champion in the Large Juniors.

The biggest thank you to Jamie Rowland and her Cedar Grove for coaching Aubrey this weekend 🙌🏻 Aubrey and Rowan also winning the South Carolina Governor’s Cup at March Madness 1!

☃️ 😎 We’re Back!! 😎 ☃️

After what seems like an eternity and slugging it out through literal ice and snow storms in South Carolina- we knocked some dust off at PSJ this weekend!

Cindy Falk and her Bruno Bandito kicking off their 2026 show season WINNING the Mini Derby, their fist derby together, on Sunday morning! 🏆

Reese winning an over fences class and the under saddle in the Hopeful Hunters. Reese is naturally quiet, brave, great lead change- and is available for sale! Super cute prospect- shown locally and eligible Baby Greens. Will be very easy to bring along and absolutely suitable for junior/ amateur now.

Margaret Russell’s Picturesque Champion both Friday and Saturday in the PreGreens.

Carol Lynn Richards young horse Double Down stepping into the Greens with some great rounds. She and her own Into The Night Champion both days in the Amateurs in perfect prep to head to Florida! ☀️

Lastly, Berlynn Morehead, Caroline Kelly and myself all taking a tour in the jumpers this weekend- Berlynn and her boy Canvas Blue winning the .80s, Caroline and her Caventus B winning both a .90 and 1.0! My own super special Randy also winning a 1.0 class- tuned up, ready and looking forward to some derbies in Ocala!
