It was an honor to be able to make these shirts a few weeks ago. 💜

Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument posted this on August 15 2026.

“Today, we remember Kris Eggle, who was tragically killed in the line of duty 24 years ago.

Kris began his career with the National Park Service in 1995 at Great Smoky Mountains National Park before serving as a U.S. Law Enforcement Park Ranger at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and Canyonlands National Park. He arrived at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in 2000.

As a park ranger, Kris took great pride in his work of providing for the safety of visitors; during his time at Organ Pipe Cactus, he served as an emergency medical technician, a wildland firefighter, and performed search and rescue operations.

August 15, on what would have been Kris' 53rd birthday, current and former NPS rangers and others will be running the length of the 21-mile Ajo Mountain Drive to honor Kris' memory.
