*LONG AWAITED UPDATE *
To start with, we are sorry it has been so long since the last update. If we would of given updates every month or so we would have been telling you that nothing has been done on repeat. So we decided that as things were done we would update you. So in March, when they finally decided to do the roof there was an update. We thought this was good news, the construction was finally underway. At this time we were being told so many different completion dates. They ranged anywhere from the end of April to June 30th. After the roof was put on everything came to a halt. There was more meetings with the company that was handling the rebuild. At these meetings it felt like the same words were being said. This needs to be put here and this needs to be done there. Nothing was being done though. After 1 year we have a roof, nothing more. We decided to part ways with the company that was handling everything. Now it is like we are starting over again.
We are in the process of talking to general contractors, electricians and plumbers. After all this time we are now trying to figure out what the best option for us to do is. Do we move forward or do we not. Our health is something that we also have to think about. Many of you do not know that the night of the fire my wife broke her ankle and last fall I had to have back surgery. Both injuries still bother us significantly. So we have a lot to consider and nothing is easy about any of it. Sorry again that it has been so long since the last update and we will try to do better in the future.
To those of you are wondering why there was never an article in the paper. We have wondered the same thing. You would think that a business that was a staple in the community since 1962, someone would have wanted to do an article. Not one call for one.
