Anyone else love the Florida heat and humidity?! ☀️ I love it!
The only way I can describe it is that when I step outside and the sun hits my skin I literally feel more alive and energized. Is that a thing? Because I feel it!

Planted a bunch of zinnias today! 🥳 💐 My fall bouquets are gonna be poppin! Can’t wait to see pretty blooms out here! 😍

It’s that time of year where I’m swimming in peppers. 🌶️🙌🏽😍 Today’s harvest is four different types of peppers: Santa Fe Grande, Jalapeño, Sweet Ise, and Scotch Bonnets.

I’m gonna pull up some spicy vinegar recipes and I think a few loaves of jalapeño cheddar sourdough bread would be perfect to use up the jalapeños.

Growing food is so rewarding and fun! 🤩

Here the data I have so far. I planted 4 different types of lettuce in this same raised bed last year in October and it lasted all the way until May 28th before bolting! So, let’s see if we can push it back a month. Will we be able to harvest lettuce from these plants in September? Only time will tell.

Also, this raised bed is in a very strategic spot - under my mulberry tree which provides an amazing amount of shade during the hottest parts of the day while allowing morning sun and dappled late afternoon sunshine. It’s the perfect spot for growing lettuce in my HOT Florida garden. I’ll keep you posted! 😅🥬

I’m making pikliz with my scotch bonnet peppers this weekend! 🌶️

If you don’t know what it is, look it up because it is delicious! It’s a Haitian pickled slaw that slaps! 😋 🇭🇹 It’s in my top 3 favorite condiments for sure!

Rosemary never dies here in North Central Florida…. unless of course someone “mistakenly” w**d whacks the entire six year old bush I had in my front garden. 🫠🤦🏽‍♀️😭 I won’t mention any names just know that I was not happy.

Thankfully my mom propagates all kinds of perennials so she shared one of her baby plants with me. 🙏🏽🥳 Let’s hope now that it is in a dedicated raised bed it survives. 😅

All hands on deck for prepping the Fall garden 🙌🏽😍

I prepped this spot for sunflowers because I’m currently obsessed and I have a lot of season still left before our first frost here so… lots of sunflowers it is! 🌻

I can never have a bed day when I start off of with morning gardening time! 👩🏽‍🌾👍🏽

This is my second year growing Louisiana Evergreen Shallots. I first got mine from Lazy Dog Farm and they did awesome!

We got some decently sized shallot bulbs this spring so we cooked with those. I set aside this batch to replant now for fresh green onions all fall and winter long. 🙌🏽💕🥳

They are super easy to grow and I love having them in my garden pretty much year round. For Florida, that’s a special crop. Give theme a try!
