All I want for Christmas is to figure out a way to keep all of them 🤣 Seriously though, these guys are just so sweet and round. Plus, they are growing great!

Nillas (Kereopa/Ru) are 4 weeks, Allegras (Momona/Andrew) are 5 weeks. We are trying to make some decisions this week on who is going to stay, who will be available, and who we are going to watch longer. 🥰

I should keep this boar, but I don’t NEED to. Claude is Ru/Tapeka out of Picasso and Clara’s litter.

⭐️Double wattled, 6/6, born 10/24, AKKPS 60645

His depth, width, size and gentle demeanor are amazing.

Nilla and Allegra are coparenting beautifully. It’s like one giant litter of piglets. Their personalities shine and we have our eye on some that we think are going to be amazing!

Just a quick note to say “Thank You!!” Thank you for the comments, messages, and kind words. ❤️ These pigs are family to us and I know the KuneKune community feels the same about theirs. A loss is never something any of us want to endure. Your words and thoughts have meant the world to us, so thank you.

Princess Cardamom Bee had my heart. We laid her and her babies to rest this evening. She passed peacefully after having major labor and delivery complications. We gave it our all and did everything we possibly could.

This girl has been special since the day she was born a litter of one. We have held her close and she has been my buddy. She became famous with her Diary of a Princess stories on Instagram and she has stayed one of our absolute favorites.

I honestly am at a loss for words. This girl will be deeply missed 💔

From this turkey to yours. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁

🦃🍁 Happy Thanksgiving from AKKPS! 🍁🦃

Today we are especially grateful for our incredible community of breeders, farms, families, homesteaders, and Kunekune lovers who help preserve, promote, and protect this amazing heritage breed.

Cordelia wants to remind you: eat more turkey — she says it’s a Kunekune-approved tradition. 🐷🦃

Thank you for the care you give your pigs, the passion you bring to this organization, and the love you pour into the future of the Kunekune. We wish you a safe, joyful, and restful holiday filled with good food, good people, and plenty of pig snuggles. 💛

Winter is right around the corner!

Whether you’re in a cold climate with freezing temps or a warmer region that sees wet, windy winter weather, now is the perfect time to make sure your KuneKunes are set up for a healthy, comfortable season. ❄️🐷

Here are a few helpful reminders as we head into winter:

🌬 Shelter & Bedding
• Provide draft-free, well-ventilated shelters
• Refresh bedding frequently (straw works best for insulation)
• Check for leaks after storms or heavy winds

🥣 Body Condition & Nutrition
• Assess body condition going into winter
• Increase calories slightly for pigs in colder regions
• Ensure clean water is always available

💧 Water Access
• Monitor waterers daily
• Use heated waterers or de-icers where freezing is a concern
• In warmer climates, watch for muddy areas around water sources

🌱 Pasture & Mud Management
• Rotate pastures whenever possible
• Add dry material (wood chips or straw) to high-traffic muddy areas
• Keep feeding areas clean to avoid parasites and hoof issues

🐽 Parasite Awareness
• Winter often brings moisture — a prime environment for parasites
• Work with your vet or trusted mentor on a winter deworming plan
• Remember that fecals are a helpful tool any time of year

🧰 Quick Winter Prep Kit
✔ Extra bedding
✔ Heat lamp for babies & emergencies
✔ Towels & old blankets
✔ Electrolytes
✔ Thermometer
✔ Flashlight and extra batteries

Winter looks different across the country, but one thing is the same everywhere: a little preparation goes a long way toward keeping your KuneKunes happy and healthy all season long. 💚🐽

There were some questions as to who the sire of Allegra’s litter is. Mostly because none of it added up according to heats around here. 🤔

Well, we don’t talk about Bruno for a reason. 🤣 Not only is he handsome but apparently he snuck in his first litter. Nothing to see here. These cuties are gonna be amazing!

Their pedigree involves some of my herd favorites: Ophelia, Stella, Shadow Apollo, Halley and Corina

Mystery solved ❤️🔎
