Back in June, we celebrated Bowl’d Up being ranked #8 on DoorDash’s Customer Favorites list in Alamogordo… today we’re #6! 🥹💕

In less than 9 months of being open, our little local business is sitting alongside big names like Starbucks, Domino’s, and Pizza Hut and other amazing local favorites! Seeing Bowl’d Up on that list means so much to me ❤️

I just want to say thank you for all the love and support on my last post. Almost 300 likes and over 45 comments honestly meant more to me than you know. I read your kind words about me, my employees, and Bowl’d Up, and they helped me feel so much better. ❤️

Some days are slow, and it can be hard to see how much support we really have. One bad experience got to me, but you all reminded me that there’s a whole community behind us. I’m so grateful for every person who took the time to comment, share, or stop by. Thank you for having our backs. 🥹

Quick update: We’ll be closing early today at 4:30 so I can head out of town to buy more supplies for the shop. Thank you for understanding always! 🫶

Today was the first time I’ve ever had to ask someone to leave Bowl’d Up, and I’m still upset about having to do it.

A customer came in wanting breaded chicken, eggs, and cherry chipotle sauce. We were almost out of the chicken and out of the other two items. (We had every other topping she requested) I apologized and offered her the breaded chicken we had left with extra grilled chicken. I understand that being out of three things is frustrating.

What I didn’t expect was the way she spoke to me and my employee. When I tried to explain the situation, she cut me off and said she didn’t care about my excuses. I told her plainly that I didn’t like how rudely she was speaking to me. I wasn’t planning to ask her to leave, but she kept going and laughed at me, so I did. As she walked out, she said, “You’re going to regret that.”

Bowl’d Up isn’t a chain or a franchise. I depend on daily deliveries from one supplier, and if they’re out of something, sometimes we’re out too. Even big chains run out of items. I’m tired of small businesses being treated like we’re less than while being expected to have more.

You’re always welcome to tell me when you’re disappointed. I’ll listen and do what I can to help. But I won’t let anyone speak harshly to my employee or me for trying our best.
