We had perfect weather (for February) for the Honeysuckle Basket Weaving class last weekend! Laurie taught everyone how to harvest and process invasive vining honeysuckle, then craft it into useful, beautiful random weave baskets.

Last slow-ish weekend for awhile, I think. Sourdough, kid’s day, and repotting plants, all under the watchful (stalker) eyes of Aussie dog. Tapping maples, garden planning, seed starting, and exciting work happenings are all up to bat!

Morning report.

Lately my morning routine includes checking on the tiniest monarch caterpillar that I discovered on my milkweed plant. Within a week, they have quadrupled in size. I’ve saved the ripe seed pods for cultivation next year - we’ve all got to do our part for pollinators.

Yesterday was bee colony maintenance day - great success! W**d trimming done and the colonies are building up really well. I felt really lucky to get this shot of one of the queens - do you see which bee?
