More about the performers:

Pearl & the Oysters, international adventurers in eclectic pop, crash-landed their starship in Los Angeles in the year 2020. Born and schooled in Paris, the couple launched a nomadic romance fueled by music that would later see them crooning in New York jazz clubs, then wading the swampy waters of American DIY art rock in Gainesville, Florida.

Today in L.A., the band’s evolving sound complements a buoyant moment in a scene where their brand of space age jazz-pop is more than welcome. This tour supports their upcoming release “Monkey Mind”.

Local support from Abyssmals who just released their record No Pretty Face & Griff solo work by Matthew Griffin (Let’s Be Leonard). Excited for tonight and to see how things shake out. GO TO SHOWS!

DIVE PRESENTS Helmet, Spirit In The Room & Flatwounds. Live At Lark Hall (351 Hudson Ave - Albany NY) 8/28/2026. Vibe - Alternative / Post Hardcore / Noise Rock.

Ticket Information - On sale Friday 10 AM on Lark Hall’s Eventbrite. Link in bio. $35 ADV / $40 Door. Big band. Small room. Get tickets in advance!

More About The Show:

In the late ‘80s, Helmet’s blistering hard rock stirred the American underground. The band’s 1989 debut “Strap It On” was bold enough to detonate the minds of hardcore lifers, noise-rock aficionados and metalheads whiplashed by the density of Hamilton’s riffing. Helmet proceeded to take on all comers with their Gold-certified album “Meantime”. The original lineup would excel over the course of 10 years, recording two more albums, 1994’s “Betty” and 1997’s “Aftertaste” before adjourning in 1998. By that time, Hamilton’s aesthetic had rubbed off on many bands from bona fide metal units and the then-burgeoning nu-metal scene.

After a few years away, Hamilton reformed the band in 2004 with all new members, recording such reputation-fortifying releases as “Size Matters” (2004), “Monochrome” (2006), “Seeing Eye Dog” (2010), “Dead To The World” (2016) & “Left” (2023).

Touring support is Spirit In The Room who occupies a curious and alluring space between late ’60s Los Angeles, The Doors, Hawkwind, and Spiritualized. Spirit In The Room‘s audio manifestations are hazy, complex, and a challenge to categorize; a kaleidoscopic sound of sonic rebellion akin to an experimental version of Nine Inch Nails, Roxy Music, and Black Sabbath and as loud and aggressive as Refused.

Local support comes from Flatwounds. This up and coming four-piece siphons influence and inspiration from the ‘90s grunge, ‘00s hard rock, and modern hardcore sound and scenes. Band has incredible momentum having just permormed Sick New World festival and currently on a tour with Lip Critic selling out shows across the US. Don’t sleep on this one. Buy tickets right when they go on sale.

More about the show:

Pearl & the Oysters, international adventurers in eclectic pop, crash-landed their starship in Los Angeles in the year 2020. Born and schooled in Paris, the couple launched a nomadic romance fueled by music that would later see them crooning in New York jazz clubs, then wading the swampy waters of American DIY art rock in Gainesville, Florida.

Today in L.A., the band’s evolving sound complements a buoyant moment in a scene where their brand of space age jazz-pop is more than welcome.

Juliette Pearl Davis and Joachim Po**ck met on the first day of high school in Paris - bespectacled Juju and curlyhaired Jojo, both music-obsessed, nerdy, and drawn together by a “poetic connection” and mutual heroes unusual for high schoolers, like Burt Bacharach, Kurt Weill and especially, Antônio Carlos Jobim.

At college, pursuing musicology degrees at the Sorbonne, a romantic connection emerged. Today, Juliette and Joachim’s shared journey as love partners and music-makers gifts listeners with a rare experience in pop music - the output of a near-telepathic musical language grown over decades of 24/7 connection and collaboration.

Joachim’s influences of Tropicália, analog synths, Juliette’s love for jazz, and the Great American Songbook, and the pair’s shared delight in global pop fusion groups like Yellow Magic Orchestra has alchemized into the kaleidoscopic world-building sound of Pearl & the Oysters. Don’t miss this incredible band’s stop at the Spa City.

Ticket Information - General on sale Friday, April 24 10 AM at the Hangar’s Eventbrite page. $25 ADV / $30 Door.

More About The Show:

There is a beauty in listening to music made in the spirit of energetic transformation. When the sounds transform the air and the listener. This record transports the listener into the heart of the music of Mdou Moctar. The blending of intention and motivation creates a burst of sound that embraces and shakes and invites one to dance! It invites one to breathe. It invites one to be in solidarity with the music. It invites one to be in touch with the human condition. What does it mean to be free in these times? Can the world be liberated from the colonial mindstate that has caused such harm and mistrust? Can we mourn our losses yet build anew to form something more astounding, more fantastic? Funeral For Justice says we can.

A sound that carries weight makes an impact. A sound that carries time transcends time. We are not only listening to music but we are living through it. We are living with it. We are living in it. The artist sees history and makes poetry from it for the present. Mdou Moctar’s Funeral For Justice requests your presence. Show up open to the celebration of life, loved as it should be loved. Experience the exaltation and exuberance. The words speak of ascension, awareness, sorrow, apathy, knowing, and growth. The guitars speak of power, energy, jubilation, transcendency, immediacy, and tradition. The drums and percussion mark the pulse of now as well as a timeless dance that involves us all, as it did those that came before us. The wires that carry the message feel alive with fire and purpose, explosive with possibility.

So join Mdou Moctar in this funeral for justice, knowing rebirth is possible. A new justice is possible. With your voice, your heart, your dance, your stomp, a new justice is born. Mdou Moctar welcomes you with joy and open arms. Be here. Feel here and do, alongside this music.

More About The Show:

We are thrilled to welcome back one of our favorites Ulrika Spacek from London. They just released their new record EXPO. It’s great give it a listen.

“What if Portishead’s ‘Dummy’, Radiohead’s ‘Kid A’ and Bjork’s ‘Homoegenic’ were made today by one band on one record? It might sound something like this” - Brooklyn Vegan”

EXPO’s liminal collages are dislocated yet mesmeric, teetering between digital glitch-scapes and organic sounds.” - Record Collector

“Guitars and synthesisers intertwine, and on tracks like “This Time I’m Present,” we find that singular mechanism that defines Ulrika Spacek’s identity, with its winding guitar lines and totally unpredictable sense of melody. And as always with this group, it’s exciting.” - Rock & Folk
