Working on stocking up for fall! Not every batch gets a post but Rainforest is a pretty one.

Also packed a few trial fragrances that I tried in travel sizes. Sea & Cedar will definitely be joining the regular stock. River Birch is a maybe.

Appraisal day!
For those that don't know, we have been slowly decreasing the herd size. 10 does were appraised today. It has been 4 years since our last appraisal, most of these does have never been appraised. A few of the does that kidded this year were already dried off.

Most scores were right where I expected. A few higher, a few lower. A little hilarious that our first ever 90 doe is... an experimental recorded Grade. Aka. A cross bred doe from an unregistered dam.

Our next event may not be until October, but soap making happens long before the events.

Made today: Clover & Aloe with a little change to it's colors. This fragrance is one I have always liked, combining fresh greens and bright citrus with a touch of floral notes and amber.

Also, Sweet Cardamom Chai. This will be the last batch of the Chai available. I was aiming for a "Tea and milk" look and got more of a muddy water look... well see how it cures and cuts!

What an incredible weekend at Black Sheep Gathering. The support of the fiber community is amazing. If you've never been to a fiber festival, and you have any interest in the fiber arts, you should go. If you want to learn, many festivals offer classes and many members of the community are more that willing to help.

Warning: you might come home with an unplanned new hobby.

For me this weekend was held together and carried through with the support of an amazing friend group. My heart is full with all the check ins and conversations and catching up we got to do over the weekend. I owe many of you a real visit!

I am in the upper left corner on the map. The NW corner for fans of cardinal directions. From the main entrance or the courtyard entrance, I'm all the way in the back.

Last kids for the season were born Thursday. They are boer/Nubian cross. Buck/doe twins and an easy delivery. I'm happy to be done. They are cute though!

Their dam is a Nanuq daughter, Pika.
